Using Images in Research
If you are using images for school projects, make sure to cite them. You have a couple of options.
If you use google images, you must make sure that you cite your source like this:
Example (MLA 8):
Title of image or your own description of the image. Digital Image. Title of the website where it was published (not google!). Date it was published (if you know it). URL.
Elephant next to a car. Digital image. The London Telegraph. 13 May 2008, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/jkhfds/image.
Better yet! When searching in Google Images, click on the Tools button and then on Usage Rights. Click on the dropdown and select “Labelled for Noncommercial Use with Modification“. This should find you images with the least restrictive copyrights. Many of these pictures you will not need to cite.
Or visit the following cites that allow for Creative Commons licensing.
